The on-campus Bucknell Observatory is home to the Tressler Observing Lab and an antique Clark refractor telescope.
Public observing nights will take place once a month and be led by astronomy and physics instructors and teaching assistants trained and knowledgeable in the subject and equipment. On clear nights, visitors will be given a tour of the observatory, shown the night’s constellations, and given the chance to look at different space sights through the telescopes. On the tour of the observatory, visitors can also see and touch various historical astronomical artifacts such as scientific equipment, meteorites, and the antique Clark telescope. Public nights will be canceled if it is cloudy or rainy.
The Tressler Observing Lab and most of the main observatory is accessible via wheelchair. Parking
The Bucknell Observatory is located on the Bucknell University campus at 840 Fraternity Rd, Lewisburg, PA. A visitor’s parking lot is available near the observatory. From this lot, head up the hill past the stadium and look for the brick building and white dome on the left. Go around the corner to the observatory main entrance, which is under the white dome.
